Greenpis criticizes a government program on climate protection

The Green Peace Organization (Greenbis), which concerns the defense of the environment, criticized the project of a German governmental program for climate protection, describing it as insufficient, and its details appeared on Monday through sources in the Ministry of Economy.
The objective of the federal government’s climate protection programme was not to prevent global warming from increasing the average global temperature by one degree.

Martin Kaiser, the administrative director of Greenpis, told the German television network “RND” in statements that were broadcast early on Tuesday morning that the temperature was 5 degrees Celsius.
The primary revelations from Monday indicate that the transportation sector still has to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 118 to 175 million tonnes by 2030. This is not yet included in the project’s list of measures.

Kaiser demanded an early end to combustion engines and also promoted a top speed limit and higher licencing costs for vehicles with them.
The international community set the target of limiting global warming to less than two degrees Celsius, ideally less than 1. 5 degrees, at the Paris Climate Conference in 2015.
According to a report, the German government intends to enact the climate policy this month.

In particular, the government plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2030 in order to ensure that Germany continues to meet its climatic targets.

Greenpis opposes a government initiative to combat global warming.
