An Indian court prohibits testing the two fingers on the victims of rape

The so-called two-finger test on alleged rape victims was outlawed in many states on Monday by the Supreme Court of India.
On Monday, the television shows “Live Lu” and “Bar and Bench” asserted that such a test has any scientific foundation.
The two websites claimed that the tests made women more shocked. They continued, “The so-called test is based on the false presumption that a sexually active woman cannot be raped.

These “tests” involve the use of two fingers to assess a woman’s vaginal suppleness and determine whether or not she is accustomed to sex.
Additionally, the court emphasised that “the woman’s testimony’s proof does not depend on her sexual experience.” The fact that a woman cannot think she was raped just because she engages in sexual activity is a masculine thing.
The Indian Supreme Court already decided that the “test” is unconstitutional in 2013 (Supreme Court of India).

Nevertheless, it was still applied in specific circumstances.
The court has now ordered the Indian states to end this practice and stop considering the two fingers test as a possible examination of the alleged rape victims in medical training..

Indian law forbids rape victims from having their two fingers tested.
