Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan emphasize the importance of taking measures to conclude a peace treaty between Baku and Ervan

The heads of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan emphasised how crucial it is to plan and take concrete steps to bring about a peace agreement between Baku and Yerivan.
This came in a statement issued today, Monday, after the end of the tripartite summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian, in the Russian city of Sochi, to resolve the crisis in Qara Bagh, according to the Russian “Sputnik” news agency.

Considering that holding a summit around Qara Bagh showed that the parties could agree on the future and that everyone is interested in normalising relationships, but he pointed out Until the parties were unable to agree on everything, Putin said that the triple summit of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in Sochi lasted more than two hours and had three sessions of negotiations to resolve the conflict in Qara Bagh.

In order to put an end to the war, Putin noted that Russia will try its best to restore diplomatic ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He continued, “For its part, Russia will try its best to secure a final and thorough settlement.

“The leaders of the three nations stressed the importance of their efforts to achieve the stability of the situation in the region, stressing the importance of creating a positive climate between Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue the dialogue between representatives of the public and the societies of experts and religious leaders with Russian assistance, as well as the launch of triple contact.

In a different context, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasised that the Russian peacekeeping division in Qara Bag, which is contested by Armenia and Azerbaijan, is carrying out its role as it should.
Putin said, during his meeting with the Azerbaijani President in the Russian city of Sochi: Putin described today’s negotiations as “the mission”, stressing that it aims to ensure the implementation of all agreements achieved in 2020 and 2021, according to the Russian “TASS” news agency.

“Today, of course, we will need to talk about the situation and look for answers to problems that have not yet been resolved,” Putin continued.
The Russian President will host bilateral, tripartite negotiations with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Sochi, Russia, to discuss the existing crisis in the disputed Qara Bagh region between the two countries.

Since the 1990s, Yerevan and Baku have been at war in the area of Qara Bagh, and the most recent fighting saw the deaths of over 6,500 people before coming to an agreement on a truce that Russia mediated.

The need of taking action to complete a peace treaty between Baku and Ervan is stressed by Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
