Police recover body of Quebec infant missing in river since car crash Friday

Police in the Laval neighbourhood of Montreal claim to have discovered the body of a one-month-old baby who had been missing in a river since Friday night.
Just before 5 o’clock in the afternoon, a car carrying the infant boy’s mother and sister, age 4, crashed into the Mille Îles River in a neighbourhood of Laval.
According to the police, the 40-year-old mother was hospitalised and unable to speak with detectives, so they are unaware of the circumstances leading up to the collision.

The four-year-old girl was saved, and Friday night the hospital released her.
Following the start of their third day of searching, Laval police announced that they had found the body.
Teams from the local police and fire department joined provincial police divers and a helicopter in the search for the missing child over the course of the weekend.
