Perhaps the death mask of Ankh Amon is the most famous artifact found in his grave, where the 21 -inch decorated mask was placed, i. e. 53 cm on the face of Tutankhamun in his grave, and it was mainly manufactured of gold studded with semi -precious stones and colored glass paste 10 kilos in weight.
According to Live Science, Jalal Ali Hassan, an honorary professor in the Cairo University Department of Mechanical Design, confirmed in a study article published in 2016 in the International Journal of Progress in Engineering and Technology that the mask shows Tutankhamun sporting a long beard and a headdress with an eagle and a cobra on it.
The hieroglyphic talisman from the book of the dead that “assured the ability of the mask to act as a face for the deceased” is written on the rear of the death mask. In her book “The Unknown” Tutankhamun,” published by Bloomzbury in 2016, Marianne Eton Crawr, a researcher with the American Research Center in Egypt, claims that Tutankhamun’s third deeper coffin bears the same talisman that is inscribed on his mask.
The golden mask of Tutankhamun, also known as the mask of death, was one of Howard Carter’s discoveries in Cemetery 62 in 1925. It is currently on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and is one of the most well-known works of art in history. According to Egyptian scientist Nicholas Reeves, “The mask is not only The Perfect Picture of the Tutankhamun Cemetery, but perhaps the Most Famous Element Around Ancient Egypt itself.”
