The German club Bayer Leverkusen announced today, Monday, that its Czech striker Patrick Chic may participate from the start in the match against the Belgian Club Bruges tomorrow, Tuesday, in the Champions League.
Karim Dimirbay is anticipated to play in the decisive game that Leverkusen needs to win in order to advance to the European League.
Leverkusen’s chances of advancing farther in the Champions League’s second group are diminished, but a win over Klopp Bruges will allow the team to compete in the European League.
“Reaching the European League is extremely important to us as a team and the club, we want to continue playing at the international level, tomorrow we will fight for this opportunity,” said Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, coach.
Added him: “Simple nuances will determine the outcome, therefore we want the team to put up their best effort on the field to deliver a strong match. I’m not going to watch Atletico Madrid. This is all that matters, and we must win.”
“Karim is training today, so we hope that he will be tomorrow and ready for the match,” the Spanish coach said.
After a check’s injury from the Leipzg game healed, Alonso declared: “He will play tomorrow if he is healthy.”
Patrick Chic will play for Leverkusen again against Club Bruges in the Champions League.
