Exercise is the key to healing after breast cancer surgery

A new study revealed that the best way to return to normal feeling after breast cancer surgery is more physical activity and exercise such as: arm stretch exercises and light air exercises, according to “Health”.
Dr. Alestir Thompson, head of the Breast Surgery Department at Baylor College of Medicine, stated that patients who resume regular activities soon after surgery generally heal better and experience fewer complications.

“Arm gently training is a fantastic technique to enhance the flexibility of the shoulder and prevent edoema if surgery is performed in the chest, breast, or armpit wall,” he advised.
As a gentle stretching exercise, Thompson advises touching the top of your head and reaching your hand behind your back all the way to the ceiling.
Yoga may also help you expand, but keep in mind that the area around the surgery may not be as flexible.

Exercises that are aerobic can stimulate the heart, lungs, bones, and muscles.
Walking is a good form of mild exercise, and as long as the area is sufficiently lit, all you need is a pair of comfortable shoes to go for a stroll.

The key to recovery following breast cancer surgery is exercise.
