The new Twitter owner Elon Musk said in a tweet on Sunday that Twitter would adjust the verification of users and “the full verification process is being renewed at the present time”, without giving further details about what may change.
Users will reportedly have to pay $4.99 a month to subscribe to the blue Twitter brand in order to keep their “documented” badges if the project is implemented.
Tesla CEO has not taken a final decision, and the project is still possible, but according to the platform it is possible that verification will become part of the blue Twitter brand.
The blue brand, which offers a “exclusive exclusivity” on a monthly subscription and the ability to edit tweets, was introduced in June of last year as the platform’s first subscription service.
After Musk insisted on using a Twitter poll in April when he asked millions of his followers if they wanted to change the tweets, the tweet editing capability was also introduced earlier this month. More than 70% of respondents said they agreed.
