Guterres confirms the United Nations solidarity with Somalia against extremism and condemns the Mogadishu attack

Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, reaffirmed the group’s solidarity with Somalia in its fight against violent extremism, vowed to continue supporting Somalia’s peace and prosperity, and expressed profound sorrow over the attack on Mogadishu, which left more than 100 people dead and numerous others injured.

According to the United Nations Media Center, Guterres expressed his sincere sympathies to the relatives of the victims, who included UN staff, as well as to the Somalian government and people, and wished the injured a quick recovery.
