Arsenal back on top but Saka limps off early in win over Forest

30 October, London (Reuters) – After Bukayo Saka hobbled off in the middle of the first half, Arsenal’s 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest on Sunday at the Emirates may have cost them the victory.
Reiss Nelson, Saka’s substitute, scored twice in addition to goals from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Thomas Partey.

But the injury to the winger will be a major concern for manager Mikel Arteta and his England counterpart Gareth Southgate three weeks ahead of the start of the World Cup in Qatar.
Arsenal now has 31 points after 12 games, two more than Manchester City, while an inferior Forest is still at the bottom of the standings with nine points after playing one more game.

Nelson told SkySports, “Of course, it is a great shame for Arsenal and the country, and we will go and check right away to see how he (Saka) is.
“We simply want to do well for the coach and the team. We’re top now and it’s nice, hopefully we can go all the way. ” It was incredible; after the goal, we got off to a bit of a slow start, but everyone got into it and it was fun to play in.

Saka played well in the first few minutes, and Martinelli’s goal came from his cross. However, Saka was hurt immediately after after being tackled by Forest’s Renan Lodi. After 27 minutes, Saka tried to continue but gave up.
Nelson scored twice in short succession to give Arsenal a two-goal advantage that they should have had at the break, but they secured the victory within the first 15 minutes of the second session.

After Dean Henderson blocked his initial attempt, he took the opportunity to score his first goal from the rebound, and three minutes later he converted Gabriel Jesus’ cross. He hadn’t played in the Premier League since August 2021.

Saka limps off early in Arsenal’s victory over Forest, putting them back in the lead.
