Former leftist President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva was elected president of Brazil by winning by a slight difference over his outgoing right -wing rival Jayer Bolsonaro, by 50. 83% compared to 49. 17%, according to the semi -final official results.
The 77-year-old legend Lula had already served a prison term for corruption-related offences (2018–2019) when he gave the judiciary the order to free him.
