The former Czech Prime Minister accused of corruption will take the presidential entitlement

André Babish, a former Czech prime minister who is under investigation for corruption, declared that he would run for president in 2018.
Babish, who served as prime minister from 2017 to 2021, is currently facing trial for wrongdoing in connection with a $200,000 in EU aid.
The 68-year-old deputy posted on Facebook, “I will run for the Czech Republic of Czech elections.”

Babish is the head of the ANO movement (yes), a populist opposition party that came in second place in the general elections held last year to a coalition made up of three parties to the right of the centre and headed by the current prime minister, Peter Villa, by a narrow margin.

The allegedly corrupt former prime minister of the Czech Republic will accept the presidency.
