One day after Russia suspended its participation in the initiative to transport grains across the Black Sea that allowed the export of food from Ukrainian ports, the United Nations, Turkey, and Ukraine came to an agreement on a movement plan that will be implemented on Monday on 14 ships in Turkish waters.
The three delegations also concurred to conduct searches for forty leaving ships at the Center for Joint Coordination, which is located in Istanbul and employs staff from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the United Nations.
According to Reuters, the centre also said in a statement that it had informed the Russian delegation of the two proposals.
In addition, the Joint Coordination Center declared on Sunday night that the Russian delegation, which has been taking part in the inspection operations for the ship carrying Ukrainian medications in Istanbul since the beginning of August, will stop “indefinitely.”
“The Russian Federation’s delegation has reported that it is attached to its participation in the implementation of the initiative activities, including inspections, indefinitely,” a statement from the joint coordination centre in charge of monitoring the implementation of an international agreement to export Ukrainian grains said, citing France Press.
Earlier, the United Nations said on Sunday that the grain ships are anchored in the Bosphorus after Russia suspended the export agreement.
NATO demanded that Russia examine its involvement in the grain arrangement right away.
Following Russia’s Saturday suspension of the agreement on grain shipments from the crucial Ukrainian ports of the global food supply, which was sharply criticised by Kyiv and Washington, the transport of Ukrainian grains across the Black Sea has resumed.
Moscow defended its decision to halt taking part in a fierce drone strike on military and civilian ships from its Black Sea fleet that were positioned in the Gulf of Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula.
The only agreement between Moscow and Kiev since the start of the crisis, this agreement was reached last July under the auspices of the United Nations, Turkey, and was denounced by Ukraine as a “false argument” and as such, demanded that Russia “adhere to respect for its duties.”
