Washington has contributed $9 million to Egypt’s efforts to combat the Corona outbreak.

According to the US Embassy in Cairo’s Twitter page, the US government announced the launch of a $9 million (EGP 173. 4 million) programme through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), to address the Egyptian government’s most pressing needs in order to combat the Corona epidemic. The programme will support Egypt’s health care systems and their employees while accelerating the pace at which vaccine coverage is achieved.

According to Leslie Reid, director of USAID’s mission in Egypt, this new effort would strengthen Egypt’s healthcare system by supplying and training more medical personnel to expand all Egyptians’ access to immunizations. Vaccinations must be administered to those who need them the most, and reliable vaccine information must be provided so that people can feel confident in getting a complete immunisation for themselves and their family.

All of this knowledge will help to create the foundation for future initiatives to combat Corona and other public health risks.
The US government has donated 28 million doses of Pfizer and Johnson vaccines to Egypt in order to save lives and help stop the spread of harmful new mutations, according to a USAID statement. The US government has also given Egypt more than 64 million dollars (1. 2 billion Egyptian pounds) through the agency to support Egypt’s fight against the Corona virus.
