World leaders express their sincere condolences to the victims of the stampede in South Korea

The victims of the stampede in South Korea during Halloween celebrations, which left 151 dead and 82 injured, received heartfelt condolences from world leaders.

According to Yun Suk Yol, president of South Korea, the incident was a “tragedy and disaster” that shouldn’t have happened in the country’s spiritual centre. He also declared today, Sunday, to be a day of national mourning and the lowering of flags. He also expressed his condolences to the victims, the majority of whom are teenagers.

The government will accurately determine the cause of the accident, conduct fundamental improvements to ensure that the same accident does not occur again in the future, and express its sincere sorrow and regret for this accident, according to Yun, as reported by the South Korean Yonhap News Agency in its version in English.

Yoon continued in his address to the nation, “As president and one who is responsible for people’s lives and safety, I feel deep sadness. The government will declare the time from today until the incident is under control to be a period of national mourning and it will give administrative matters the highest priority in the recovery and follow-up procedures.

“I will also order the Ministry of Interior and other pertinent ministries to conduct an urgent review of all Halloween celebrations and other regional holidays to make sure they are conducted in a secure and orderly manner,” he continued.
After the speech, Yun went to the location before proceeding to the government building in the heart of Seoul to preside over the government’s response meeting.

In response, US President Joe Biden stated that his nation is standing with South Korea following the tragedy in the nation’s capital, Seoul, and emphasised that the relationship between our two nations’ peoples is stronger than ever.
In the wake of this horrible event, US Secretary of State Anthony Blanderkin extended his sincere sympathies to the victims’ families, friends, and the people of South Korea.

International leaders offer their profound sympathies to the South Korean stampede victims.
