The denial is made in light of the Moroccan delegation’s reservation following the Algerian channel “Al24 Newspublication “‘s on its website of an Arab world map that differs from the one the League of Arab States previously adopted.
The General Secretariat stressed that the Arab League does not adopt an official map indicating the political borders of the Arab countries, and that it adopts a map of the Arab world without showing the borders between countries in order to enhance the concept of Arab unity.

According to the same source, as reported by the Moroccan News Agency, “the Moroccan delegation remained inside the hall and protested against the Arab League’s failure to respect the Maghreb map, as is recognised, by an Algerian channel, forcing it to issue a clarification statement and to apologise to the session’s chair.
The same source emphasised that, in accordance with royal directions, leaving the conference room is not one of the rules and customs of Moroccan diplomatic work. Instead, it is customary to defend Morocco’s lawful rights and essential interests from within the meeting’s hallways.
The Moroccan News Agency quoted the source as saying that all reports that the Moroccan team had left the meeting room were false.
