Iran protests: Families of Flight 752 form Canada-wide ‘human chain’ in solidarity

As the families of the victims of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 added their voices to the global cries for revolution in Iran, protests are taking place across Canada.
Today, hundreds of protesters lined sections of Toronto’s main thoroughfare and chanted Mahsa Amini’s name. Mahsa Amini was killed in September after being imprisoned by Iran’s morality police, prompting widespread demonstrations.

At a midtown intersection on Yonge Street, several demonstrators held up pictures of loved ones who were among the 176 people killed on Jan. 8, 2020 when Iran’s Revolutionary Guard shot down a Ukrainian airliner.
Arash Morattab, whose brother and sister-in-law perished in the accident, claims that all of the victims of the Iranian dictatorship are linked and that Canada should express its support by cutting off all links to that nation.

The quest for justice, according to Sara Ahmadi, whose common-law partner was murdered, is especially poignant for all Iranian women who are still unable to enjoy freedom.
Similar “human chain” protests are being organised by the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims in major Canadian cities like Vancouver, Edmonton, Halifax, and Ottawa.
