When a large group of people gathered in Seoul’s city centre to celebrate Halloween late on Saturday night, there was a stampede that resulted in 59 deaths and 150 injuries.
At 11:30 p.m. local time (1430 gmt), the firefighting personnel attempted to save the hearts and lungs of at least 50 individuals in the Itayeon region.
While video posted on social media showed bystanders and members of the rescue squad assisting many persons on the spot.
President Yun Suk Yol of South Korea, according to his office, directed the hospital family to get ready and authorised the dispatch of an emergency medical team to the area in order to lessen the number of casualties.
