Russia announced the suspension of its participation in the United Nations grain export agreement following the attacks on its ships in the Crimea.
According to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Saturday, that Moscow had halted its involvement in the deal to export agricultural products from Ukrainian ports.
In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the agreement’s temporary suspension, stating that strikes on Ukraine had made it possible to guarantee the safety of ships in the Black Sea.
On the other hand, the UN made it plain that it is in contact with Russia following that country’s decision to stop taking part in the grain accord.
All parties involved should avoid any circumstance that impedes the export of tablets from the Black Sea, she continued.
