The Tunisian national team is threatened with exclusion from participating in the World Cup

The potential of barring the national team from competing in the forthcoming World Cup tournaments, which will take place in Qatar next month, was raised by FIFA to the Tunisian sports authorities.
Following a recent announcement by Jamal Dhish, the Tunisian Sports Minister, outlining plans to disband the executive office of the local federation, the Spanish newspaper “AS” reported that FIFA had warned it due to the government’s interference in football operations.

The newspaper noted that FIFA sent a correspondent to the Tunisian Football Association, which is led by Wadi Al-Jamir, via the Department of Federations and Members, which is run by Kenny John Mary. In the correspondent’s report, he claimed that FIFA members are aware of the Tunisian government’s desire to meddle in the local football association’s affairs.

The newspaper emphasised that Kenny John was a warning to the federation that sanctions would be imposed on it in accordance with the law, including a ban on any Tunisian clubs or national teams from competing in continental competitions, should evidence of government meddling in the affairs of the Tunisian Federation be found.

A state of tension prevails between the Ministry of Sports in Tunisia and the Football Association several months ago, during which Minister Kamal Daqish launched strong statements and threats towards the union, claiming that he violated the law and threatened him for civil peace due to the repeated protests of the masses in the streets.
The Tunisian national team is getting ready for the World Cup because it is in Group D with Australia, France, and Denmark.

Threats of being barred from the World Cup loom over the Tunisian national team.
