Oleg Siromolotov, the deputy foreign minister of Russia, claimed that Kiev is reckless for pushing for the designation of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and for allowing anti-Russian comments on public forums.
He continued, saying that, in accordance with Russia today, “the state sponsoring terrorism invented the Americans for the first time with the objective of stigmatising the pariah countries, if Washington labels its air a disgraceful designation against this state, and then adopt unilateral restrictions.”
“Sovereign countries are primarily responsible for countering terrorism, thus bringing this problem up at the level of the United Nations or any other international institution is both inappropriate and unresponsible.
“He made the point that the Ukrainian side is politicising international efforts to prevent terrorism by demonstrating the insufficiency of its anti-Russian tone in every manner imaginable across all international platforms.
Ukrainian efforts to name a sponsor of terrorism are “absurd,” according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
