Britain finances 17 organizations with more than one million pounds to enhance media literacy skills

The British government gave more than one million pounds to 17 British groups so they may experiment with novel approaches to improving media literacy for those who might be subject to online abuse and overstimulation.
According to a statement posted on the British government website on Friday, money is also intended to protect people from being duped by false material, such as misinformation about vaccines, bogus videos, or advertisements made by adversarial nations.

To ensure that everyone has the chance to enhance their media literacy abilities and safeguard themselves against false information online, one of the two key funding strategies was established to target the hard-to-reach groups and weak groups.

A project run by the nonprofit organisation “Internet Maters” will offer training in erasing media literacy to dozens of workers in the care industry and those who have left their jobs in the Greater Manchester area. The Social Foundation “Frechrb” will collaborate with young people to develop their own voice programmes to explore false and misleading information via the Internet to be broadcast on the local radio.

Britain provides 17 groups with more than £1,000,000 to improve media literacy.
