Driver rescued after car enters water at Bayfront Park in Hamilton

After his automobile went into the ocean off a pier at Bayfront Park on Thursday night, the driver was taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
According to Hamilton Police, the car entered the water near the Bayfront boat launch around 9:30 p.m. and was about 80 feet from the pier area.
Const. Krista-Lee Ernst wrote to Global News in an email, “Two heroic civilians and an officer went out to their aid and made every effort to rescue the driver.”

The four people inside the car stayed on the roof since it wasn’t completely submerged when they got the driver out.
Ernst claimed a private watercraft successfully extricated all four from the automobile.
There is still work being done to determine what happened.

During an automobile accident at Hamilton’s Bayfront Park, the driver was saved.
