America welcomes the Iraqi Prime Minister’s commitment to put weapons under the control of the official state institutions

The new Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al-pledge Sudani’s to place weapons under the authority of recognised governmental organisations was warmly received by the United States.

As part of its congratulations to Iraq and its people on the formation of a new government, the US State Department said in a press release posted on its website today, Friday: “Washington is looking to work with the new Iraqi Prime Minister and its government in the scope of their common concerns, from improving services for the Iraqi people to ensuring a safe, stable, and sovereign Iraq As indicated in the strategic framework agreement.”

According to the statement, the United States expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Iraqi government and people to address the country’s challenges, particularly those related to improving human rights protections, addressing climate change, and enhancing economic opportunities for an expanding population.

She stated that the Iraqi people deserve an economic opportunity with an end to corruption and improvement of public services, stressing the participation of the Iraqi government in the interest of maintaining stability and security.
The US State Department stressed its partnership with Iraq as it moved forward with the changes as it wrapped up its statement.

According to a statement from the new Prime Minister’s office, the Iraqi parliament passed the new administration led by Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani by an overwhelming margin yesterday. The voting on the ministerial schedule was engaged in by 253 deputies, and 21 ministers then raised their hands within the parliament building.

America applauds the Iraqi Prime Minister’s pledge to give official state institutions control over all weapons.
