Rabat: Tehran moved from the Polisario training to arm it with marches

In light of Iran’s and its Hezbollah militia’s unprecedented invasion into the region, a senior Moroccan diplomat cautioned that the Maghreb nations face grave dangers to their national security.
“Today, the “Tindouf” region (southern Algeria) and North Africa are home to Iran and Hezbollah.
Additionally, he stated that they would go from training Polisario fighters to arming them, this time with a supply of drones “said he.

The Moroccan ambassador pointed out that this “is a very dangerous development, and I hope that the whole world will realize that Iran has undermined the stability of Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon is now in the process of destabilizing our region . . . not only Morocco concerned with this but all the countries of the region,” as he put it.
Hilal emphasised that offering Iran’s “geopolitical makeover” to the separatist Polisario Front represents a new military strategy.

He continued, “Morocco will respond vigorously and will deal with its consequences,” saying that it is up to the military leadership to choose the scope and character of this retaliation.
Additionally, the Moroccan official stated that the marches to the Polisario camps performed in Iran cost on average between $20,000 and $22,000 each camp.

In a related development, the Security Council decided to extend the “MINRESO” mission’s term by one year yesterday, Thursday.

In two rounds of negotiations held in Geneva at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, in which representatives of Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, and the separatist Polisario Front participated, the Council assigned the personal envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephen de Mistura, to facilitate the resumption of the political series and the construction on the framework established by the former UN envoy Horst Kohler.

The Security Council’s decision urged the three countries and the Polisario to “continue to adhere to this path with a spirit of realism and consensus with the aim of settling it. ”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the adoption of this resolution falls in a context marked by the significant progress made in the case over the previous years under the leadership of King Mohammed VI in the first official Moroccan response to the latest Security Council decision.

In addition to the fact that economic and social development in the southern provinces “embodies this positive dynamism Very,” the ministry cited “increasing and influential international support for the autonomy initiative and the opening of more than 30 general consulates in the cities of El-Ayoun and Dakhla, as well as the lack of recognition of more than 84% of the member states of the United Nations in the imaginary entity.”

It is interesting to note that the subject of Iranian catastrophes has recently caused debate in Europe due to Western suspicions that Russia has received a number of them, in violation of international agreements and Iran’s sanctions.

In order to arm it with marches, Tehran left the Polisario training in Rabat.
