Chinese Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke on the phone with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on the situation in Ukraine and other global issues.
Wang Yi emphasised that any attempts to impede the development of the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation will fail, and that the Chinese government intends to deepen contacts with Russia at all levels in order to advance the ongoing development of Russian-Chinese relations and cooperation in all fields and bring greater benefits to the two countries.
“China will support the power of the Russian side in the future, under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin, the Russian people will overcome difficulties, remove all obstacles, and achieve the goals of the development strategy, and achieve more progress in enhancing the position of Russia as a force on the international stage,” he emphasised, underscoring the Chinese government’s intention to assist Russia in achieving its development strategy goals.
