Candidates for Wisconsin governor hone their messages as election day nears

(WBAY) – Green Bay, Wisconsin With less than two weeks until the election, the most competitive political races in Wisconsin are becoming hotter.
The contenders for governor of Wisconsin are almost even in the most recent CNN poll, with Democrat Gov. Evers receiving 50% of the vote and Republican rival Tim Michels receiving 48% — a statistical tie.
Thursday found both on the road. Michels joined fellow Republicans at a veterans facility as Evers began a statewide campaign bus trip.

We observed a few of their final-stretch disagreements.
“We can tell that Wisconsin residents are overtaxed because Madison has a $5.8 billion tax surplus. That, according to Tony Evers, is positive. I consider that to be a negative development as a conservative, thrifty businessman,” Michels remarked.
The only message, according to Evers, is a negative one: “My opponent is dangerous, and his beliefs on a variety of issues are truly radical.”

Evers’ bus tour stops many times in Northeast Wisconsin on Friday.
Michels was in the Green Bay area Wednesday night with support from Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin..

As election day approaches, Wisconsin’s governor candidates hone their messages.
