Dortmund continues to refuse: Ronaldo is not our issue

Sebastian Keil, sports director of the German club Borussia Dortmund, dismissed speculations that the team was interested in signing experienced Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
On Friday, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke refuted media reports regarding Ronaldo, before Kehl confirmed: “Cristiano Ronaldo will not transfer to Borussia Dortmund, that is how it is.”

Kiel stated that no communication was made with the captain of the Portuguese national team, and that the club never addressed the problem in the first place.
On Sunday, Kiehl told Bild tabloid, “There is fantastic over-talk, but weve done a few things in the last few days to dispel this rumour.”
Ronaldo is an excellent talent, a world-class player, but he is not interested in playing in the Bundesliga, according to Kiel.

Ronaldo stated that he was unhappy at Manchester United, and CBS Sports claimed this week that Dortmund constituted Ronaldo’s final opportunity to depart this summer.
According to the Spanish publication AS, Ronaldo still has two options: his previous club Sporting Lisbon or Dortmund.

Dortmund maintains its stance: “Ronaldo is not our problem.”
