London woman killed, decapitated friend for inheritance

In an effort to inherit her inheritance, a London woman killed and beheaded a friend, and she was found guilty of the crime.
Mee Kuen Chong, 67, was murdered in June of last year at her home in northwest London by 38-year-old Jemma Mitchell. She then drove 320 kilometres to Devon and dumped the body there.
Tourists discovered her headless bones, the BBC reported.
Mitchell fabricated a will in order to obtain funds for home upgrades.

According to testimony given in court, the two met through a church group, with Mitchell serving as Chong’s “spiritual healer.” Schizophrenia has been identified as Chong’s underlying mental illness.
Chong had offered to contribute funds for the improvements, but she later told Mitchell that she should sell the house and take the proceeds.
The house, which had been in Mitchell’s family for generations, had been in poor condition but was worth millions.

The prosecution claimed that the huge blue bag Mitchell was seen carrying to Chong’s house on CCTV footage contained a murder kit.
She emerged five hours later carrying the suitcase and another bag, and according to experts, the manner she moved it suggested there was a large object inside.
She travelled more than 300 miles to Salcombe fifteen days later. Chong’s body was found in woods the next day, and her skull in undergrowth shortly afterwards.

After eight hours of discussion, the jury found Mitchell guilty despite her denial of killing Chong.
