“The Yemeni President”: They are committed to providing all facilities to investigate human rights violations

Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to giving the National Committee all the resources it needs to look into claims of human rights breaches.

Al-Alimi met with Judge Ahmed Al-Muflihi, the head of the National Committee to investigate claims of human rights violations, today, Thursday, according to a (Yemeni) news channel. The president of the Presidential Command Council listened to a brief update on the National Committee’s activity and the resources needed to carry out its duties in accordance with the relevant domestic and international laws.

Al-Alimi reaffirmed the government’s and the leadership’s commitment to providing all necessary resources for the National Committee to carry out its mandate of looking into claims of violations of human rights. He also instructed the relevant authorities to work with the committee as the agreed-upon national reference and as a local and international partner in order to carry out thorough, professional, and unbiased investigations.

The National Committee was urged to increase its efforts to take the necessary steps to monitor and record all violations against civilians and to lessen impunity, including for violations and violence against women, children, journalists, and human rights activists. This was done by the President of the Presidential Command Council.
