Facebook’s parent company, Meta, was fined $24.7 million after a Washington judge determined that the massive digital firm had intentionally broken the law 822 times to track down electoral campaign money in the state.
A statement issued by the public prosecutor in Washington Bob Ferguson and was transferred by the American news site “Axios” that the fine “represents the greatest punishment for financing the election campaigns anywhere in the country at all.
“A spokeswoman for Meta stated that the business is holding its options and chose not to provide any additional information.
“Mita” was fined $24.7 million in Washington for breaking the regulations governing election campaign financing.
