The manuscripts are one of the most surviving treasures of the Middle Ages, it carries the signs of the people who made it: the book, book folders, manufacturers of manuscripts, most famous, designers and other individuals who decorated the pages of these very personal things.
The fact that it is not especially uncommon is what surprises me the most.
There are still a large number of mediaeval books, which means that there are millions of pages that display not just the works—texts and images—that these people produced for the mind, but also their influences.
Papers related to post-death for the manuscripts club
These elaborate manuscripts were created by Christopher de Hamel, a specialist in mediaeval manuscripts at Sotheby’s and afterwards a colleague at Corpus Christi Coldage Cambridge for decades. The Post The Post, one of his best-selling works, is based on these adorned manuscripts. Great manuscripts can be found in The Papers of the Manuscripts Club. In order to transport the average reader to the depths of a world typically reserved for wealthy gathering enthusiasts, intelligent scientists, and fortunate librarians, he investigated 12 books of manuscripts and wove a series of very alluring stories about the people they collected and accomplished in Europe.
Theologian and philosopher Saint Annasem appears in the book as a “monk,” but his role is actually that of the author. Sir Sydney Cukril, director of the Fitzueliam Museum in Cambridge, describes the institution as a “archaeology mosque,” but it can also be described as an honest museum, a merchant, or an actual expert.
De Hamel immerses the reader once more in the lives of people who lived for almost a thousand years in history, from St. Anissel in the eleventh century to Carolina Green, an archaeologist, in the twentieth.
