Tunisia’s President conveys his disapproval of official pronouncements to a delegation from the United States Congress.

Today, Sunday, Tunisian President Kais Saied told a congressional delegation that recent statements by a number of US politicians are inappropriate.
The Tunisian president stated in a statement that during their talk, Saeed informed the US delegation that sovereignty in his country belongs to the people who expressed their will in the referendum and will express it again in the next elections.

According to Tunisia’s president, democracy can only be created in the context of social justice and an independent and equitable judiciary.
According to the statement, Saeed highlighted to the American delegation several facts to disprove the efforts carried out by persons of known connection and to demonstrate the behaviours that have existed for more than a decade at all levels, leading to the worsening of economic and social situations.

Tunisians accepted a new constitution for the country in a referendum on July 25 of last year.
