The Dow Jones Industrial Index recorded 31738.44 at the close, down 98.30 points, or 0.31 percent.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index started off at 3825.97 points, or 33.14 points, or 0.86 percent.
The Nasdaq Synod index opened at 10969.02 points, down 230.10 points, or 2.05 percent.
American indicators fell as concerns about weak development grew.
