Energian: The start of gas production in the Israeli field

Before American envoy Ameos Hockestin travelled to Lebanon to sign the agreement delineating the maritime border between Israel and Lebanon, according to the company “Energy,” gas production in the Israeli “Carrich” field had already started.

On Tuesday, the Israeli government granted the “Energy” company the license to start production of gas from the Carrich Marine field, which was included in an agreement to demarcate the maritime borders with Lebanon that will be signed tomorrow, Thursday, according to officials.
Israel has been able to enhance its gas exports to Europe in recent weeks thanks to the “Energian” firm, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

A spokesperson for the organisation and the Israeli Ministry of Energy told the French Press Agency that the licence allowing the “Energy” company to collect gas from the location was granted by the Israeli government yesterday, albeit production has not yet begun.

The Israeli Prime Minister Yair Labid responded to the “permission granted by the Ministry of Energy to Energian to commence production in Carrich” by stating, “The production of gas in Carrich will start as planned when the technical prerequisites are satisfied.”
