Punishments for Europe
About a week after the European Union issued penalties against Tehran for giving Moscow drones used by Russia in its military campaign in Ukraine, Iran earlier today imposed sanctions on European people and organisations.
Today, Wednesday, Tehran announced the application of sanctions on European persons and businesses, according to the official Iranian “Press TV” channel.
She emphasised that “promot[ing] terrorism and supporting terrorist groups” was what led to the sanctions.
The European Union is responsible for Tehran, according to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “if it does not take a resolution condemning the sponsors of terrorism and incitement,” according to the “Al-Alam” channel.

The Iranian ethics police and a number of officials, including the Minister of Communications and Technology, Issa Zaraa Pour, were included in a set of restrictions that the European Union published on October 17.
Eight institutions, entities, and twelve individuals from the European Union were added to the list of sanctions by the Iranian Foreign Ministry in response on Wednesday. This was done “because of their deliberate measures in supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, inciting terrorism and violence, and spreading hatred that leads to riots, violence, terrorist practises, and violation of human rights against the Iranian people.”
The International Committee for the Search for Justice, the Persian service of the German “Deutsche Welle” channel, and Radio France International were among the organisations on the list, along with the “Friends of Iran’s Free” group and its members in the European Parliament.
Parliamentarians from Europe and France were on the list, along with two employees of the German publication “Bild.”
The sanctions imposed on them include the ban of providing travel permits and barring admission, and “freezing their money and property subject to the state of the Islamic Republic of Iran. ”
In response to London’s sanctions against the Iranian ethical police in the context of the protests, Tehran added British organisations and people to its black list on October 19.
