David Alaba, a Real Madrid player, said that his team lacked ferocity in the Champions League match against German Leipzig.
In the match that was played in Germany for the fifth round of the Champions League, Leipzig defeated Real Madrid for the first time this season, 3 to 2.
“Our team has lacked intensity since the start of the game,” Alaba stated in remarks reported by the Spanish News Agency. However, he did not wish to excuse the defeat.
“We lacked the energy,” he continued, “since there is no squad that has excellent density and quick transitions from defence to attack.”
“The absence of Benzema from the game?” he continued. Of course we suffered because of our lack of players as important to him, they have sold a world, but we have nevertheless the quality to compensate them, as we have previously shown, we had to play the match better.
“The Real Madrid team is vying for first place in the group after the German team moved up to tenth place, one point behind the monarchy.
