Von der Line: The European Union must bear a third of the financial needs of Ukraine

According to “Orzola von der Line,” the president of the European Commission, the European Union should cover a third of Ukraine’s budgetary requirements for the upcoming year.

A German politician stated that a trustworthy mechanism on both sides is required at an international conference for experts on the reconstruction of Ukraine in Berlin. He explained that Ukraine needs between three and five billion dollars per month, depending on the amount of its current export capabilities, and said: “We must finance about a third of these needs, “noting that direct aid to the Ukraine budget will amount to about 18 billion euros a year if the Russian war continues.

Von der Line stated that the European Union depends at the same time on the United States of America to provide a similar amount, noting that the rest of the aid required by international financing institutions such as the International Monetary Fund can be covered.
The budget deficit for 2023, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister “Dennis Shmeisal,” is expected to be about 38 billion euros. He also said that this year, Ukraine lost about 45% of its economic production.

Von der Line: Ukraine’s financial requirements must be covered in part by the European Union.
