‘He’s a pro and that’s what pros do’: Fajardo continues to support Mason Fine

Prior to their season-ending game on Saturday night in Calgary, the Riders returned to practise on Tuesday.
All eyes were on the quarterback position as incumbent Cody Fajardo was benched in favour of Mason Fine inside the soccer centre, away from the chilly winter air.
The former starting quarterback speaks on speculation from fans about the possible end of his Rider career.

“I believe I owe it to myself to explore what’s available, pursue free agency, and then see what transpires from there. Fajardo said during their Tuesday afternoon practise, “I’m not going to rule out any team, I want to play football a little longer so I’m not exactly sure what’s going to happen.
During Saturday’s 32-21 loss, Fajardo was called into action twice registering no throws and a pair of rushes.

His biggest catch, a 14-yard sprint, brought Rider Nation to its feet.
“It was amazing to hear the crowd clapping every time I entered. I’ve gotten a lot of great messages over this last week from a lot of fans that really made this difficult situation a little bit better. ”
Fajardo continues to support the green and white even though it is unclear whether he will continue to play after this season.

Rider quarterback Mason Fine said of his buddy, “He’s remaining incredibly optimistic, he’s still a leader in that locker room and he’s helped me enormously. He’s been not just a wonderful teammate, but also a great friend, always having my back. He has just offered support, and I can’t express how much I appreciate it.
Fajardo said, “I told him I’m always going to be in his corner and I’m going to do what I can to help him perform and get that man paid.

Throughout his time in Saskatchewan, the former superstar maintained his usual demeanour.
He comes in every day early, reads the gameplan, is aware of our offensive strategy, and does what professionals do, according to Riders head coach Craig Dickenson. He did a wonderful job since they always prepare the same manner whether they’re playing or not.

Mason Fine is still supported by Fajardo because, in his words, “that’s what pros do.”
