Since January, nearly a thousand people have been killed and injured in 301 car accidents in Nigeria

In the northeast of the state of Gombe, the Federal Road Safety Authority said that since January, 301 car accidents had resulted in 94 fatalities.
The commission’s commander disclosed that 845 other persons had been hurt in mishaps.
He blamed speeding, overloading, breaking the law, unbalanced vehicles, and not obeying speed restrictions for accidents.
He said that the authority has strengthened monitoring and patrols to ensure road safety by deploying additional cars and ambulances.

The authority had given its employees training to improve response and rescue efforts, particularly at night.
The commission’s commander stated, “We are collaborating with the state Ministry of Health in our attempts to ensure timely care for individuals who are rescued.
The guy pleaded with the drivers to resist the urge to speed, consume alcohol or other drugs, use their phones, or engage in other activities that could result in accidents.

Additionally, riders on motorcycles were cautioned against breaking traffic laws and informed that more than 1,000 motorcycles had been seized in the state in the previous three months by the Corps.
Governor Enoh Yahya, on his part, asked the people of the state to follow the proper protocol when using the nation’s highways in general.
The governor, speaking on behalf of his deputy, Dr. Manasa Gato, claimed that his government had installed solar street lighting and improved road infrastructure to make the state’s highways safer.

In Nigeria, 301 car accidents since January have resulted in roughly 1,000 fatalities and injuries.
