Italian Prime Minister: The economy may drown in the recession next year

On Tuesday, October 25, Georgia Meloni, the first woman to become prime minister of Italy, vowed to guide the nation out of one of its most challenging times since World War II and to continue to help Ukraine in her battle with Russia.
In her inaugural statement to Parliament, Meloni emphasised her opposition to racism and discrimination while stating with enthusiasm that her right-wing national alliance will make his voice known in Europe.

She continued in a speech that touched on a wide range of issues and lasted for more than an hour that Italy would continue to support Western sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin despite pressure on gas imports coming from Russia.
According to her, giving in to Putin’s extortion in the energy sector would not fix the issue; rather, it will make it worse since it will allow for even more demands and extortion.

“Meloni, 45, became the leader of the Italian Brothers party last month under the auspices of an electoral coalition that comprised the former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s Italy (Italy forward) party and Matteo Salvini’s anti-immigration association party.

In addition to promising financial assistance to individuals and businesses affected by the energy crisis, Meloni stated that her administration may have to postpone the fulfilment of some of its most expensive election pledges due to the high expense of this assistance.

The economy may go into recession next year as a result of rising inflation, unrest due to the Kofid-19, and Ukraine’s pace, she continued, adding that the backdrop in which the government must manoeuvre is exceedingly complicated and may be the most challenging since World War II.
