The Chelsea team booked a seat in the round of 16 for the Champions League, after its victory over its host, Red Paul Salzburg (2-1) in the meeting that brought them together today, in the fifth round.
Croatian Matteo Kovacic and German Kay Havirts scored the goals for the English team in the next two minutes (23 and 64), respectively.
The only goal for the Austrian squad came in the 49th minute of the match, which was played at Salzburg’s “Red Arena” stadium. It was scored by Nigerian striker Junior Adamo.
The Chelsea team achieved its fourth consecutive victory in the current season of the Champions League (2022-2023) after a loss and a draw, respectively, to strengthen its lead in Group Five (E) with 10 points, and ensures its rise to the round of 16 of the tournament.
While the balance of the Red Paul Salzburg club stopped at 6 points, to remain in the Al -Wasafa position in the table until now, two points behind the two teams of Dinamo Zagreb, the Croatian and Milan, the third and fourth places in the ranking, before their upcoming match later in the evening at the stadium.
