Man gunned down near Montreal, killing possibly linked to organized crime: police

On the north shore of Montreal in Laval, a 66-year-old man was discovered dead on Tuesday morning in the parking lot of a business close to Highway 440.
According to Stéphanie Beshara, a spokeswoman for Laval police, when officers arrived at the scene, the victim had been shot and was lying on the ground.
His demise was verified on the spot. Authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s identify.
Police reportedly know the victim.

Because the shooting might have been related to organised crime, the inquiry involves the Quebec Provincial Police.
“At this time, there are investigators on the scene. Provincial police Sgt. Catherine Bernard stated, “We have the command post on the scene, and there is the forensic identification service of the Sûreté du Québec to study the scene.
Police are still conducting their investigation and looking for witnesses.
There have been no detentions.

Police did not say whether they were searching for one or many shooter suspects.
