Tariq Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Dr. Mohamed Aqab, Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two nations in the fields of gas, oil, and mines as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between Egypt and Algeria.

Mohamed Aqar stated that there are areas of cooperation that can be accelerated by the petrochemical projects and that Algeria and Egypt have successful cooperation that they are working to build on and invest in. He specifically mentioned the successes of Egyptian businesses with the Algerian side, including Petrojet Company in collaboration with the Sonatrach Foundation.
