The majority of the Spanish football league’s teams have vowed to strike in opposition to a new sports law that is being proposed and is said to be in the best interests of huge clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Spanish League (La Liga), which oversees the country’s professional leagues, requested a special meeting on Thursday to debate the next course of action, which might include a possible strike in opposition to the draught law that still needs to be approved by Parliament.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and the Spanish Football Association were at odds with the League League about Real Madrid’s position.
This legal dispute, which has the backing of both the conservative Popular Party in opposition and the socialists in power in Spain, raises significant questions.
The Spanish League is clinging to an agreement reached with CVC, which paid two billion euros in exchange for 8. 2 percent of the association’s image rights revenues for 50 years.
The association believes that this deal will give it the financial pumping that allows it to compete with the English Premier League, but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao clubs opposed it, saying that “no Liga” abandons a lot for a few money.
“La Liga” wants to defend the new sports law because the main clubs are against it since it calls for a more equitable division of football revenue among clubs.
Alfred Garcia, General Manager of the second division club Granada, said that the major clubs want to return to the old football model, as there were great disparities that led to the restriction of the growth of the most modest clubs.
However, the Spanish Football Association questions the legality of this arrangement, believing that it neglects the humble amateur clubs.

The Spanish League also wants to allow it the new sports law to punish clubs that play in the unacceptable competitions, such as the splitting European Champions League, which is still promoted by Real Madrid and Barcelona in addition to Juventus.
