Iraqi Prime Minister: Maintaining security is the basic pillar of any economic reform

Maintaining security is the fundamental tenet of any economic change, confirmed today (Tuesday) Iraq’s newly elected prime minister, Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani.

The commander of the international coalition forces, General Matthew McFarlalin, and their accompanying delegation were received by the Sudanese, according to a statement from the media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, which was carried by the Iraqi News Agency (conscious). The meeting also covered the continuation of security cooperation and coordination between the two nations in The Firs.

Al-Sudani emphasised that upholding security is the fundamental tenet of any economic reform and expressed the desire of the next administration to strengthen relations with the United States of America in order to include economic, cultural, scientific, and other facets in addition to security cooperation.

In a different setting, Christian Richer, the leader of the multinational team to investigate ISIS crimes perpetrated in Iraq, was received by the Sudanese Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

According to a statement released by the media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister-designate, the two sides confirmed cooperation during the meeting regarding the pursuit of those responsible for the crimes and atrocities committed against Iraqi civilians by the terrorist group ISIS and the preservation of justice.
