News from Al-Madinah: US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter passed away under former US President Barack Obama, who assisted in the war against ISIS.
His family announced in a statement on Tuesday that he passed away on Monday night at the age of 68 after having a severe heart attack.
According to Reuters, Carter helped lead the US military plan to combat “ISIS” in Syria and Iraq and ultimately defeat it during the last two years of the Obama administration.
According to “CNN,” Carter served as defence minister from February 2015 to January 2017.
Carter oversaw the Bilver Center for International Science and Affairs at Kennedy College at Harvard University after he left the government.
