Ashton Carter, a former US defence secretary, passed away at the age of 68.
According to his family, Carter passed away on Monday night in the city of Boston as a result of a sudden heart attack, the American “ABC News” network said today, Tuesday.
Between February 2015 through January 2017, Carter took over the defence portfolio under the direction of former US President Barack Obama.
