Food imports from Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon would no longer be permitted for personal use, according to Kuwaiti authorities.
The local newspaper “Al -Qabas” quoted sources described as well as saying that “the Ministry of Health addressed the agencies operating at Kuwait International Airport that the necessary measures should be taken to prevent food from entering personal use, with travelers coming from 3 countries, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

” The sources added that “the health authorities called for the need to adhere to the recommendations of cholera in the affected countries, in light of their spread in some neighboring countries. ”

The disturbing pace of cholera in Syria and Lebanon and the risk of spreading it to other countries in the region requires immediate action.


“The acute outbreak in Syria has left more than 20,000 suspects, suffering from acute water diarrhoea, and 75 deaths linked to cholera from its inception,” the statement’s additional sentence read.
In barely two weeks, there were 448 confirmed cases of cholera in Lebanon, and 10 deaths were associated with them.
At the end of August of last year, the Ministry of Health in Iraq reported 29 new cholera injuries, including one fatality.
