Archaeologists in northern Germany’s Stone Age camp site have found 10,500-year-old burned human bones, according to CAIRO – 25 October 2022.
The earliest human remains discovered so far in northern Germany are these Middle Stone Age bones.
According to Ancient-Origins, this is not only the earliest human burial in northern Germany, but it is also the first time that human remains from the Mesolithic era (between 5,000 and 15,000 years ago) have been discovered in the Schleswig-Holstein area.
There are at least 20 Mesolithic and Neolithic campsites at Dauphine, including the location of the bones’ discovery. It is located on the western shore of the prehistoric lake.
Hazelnuts and fish, two highly vital sources of sustenance for fisherman, were roasted by campers. Camps have increased in size over time, which may indicate a wider spread of hazelnut trees with climate change..
